about

'Yirah' - The Hebrew word for a type of fear that you are curious about, that makes you grow rather than shrink, to be in awe of something unknown.

This recording was a spur of the moment adventure in many ways! We had only played together once before this recording. We happened to bump into each other one afternoon and decided to have a play. There was something about playing together that felt special. We had this sense of really wanting to capture the feeling of that day; all the things that were swirling around the world, musical and emotional. We went through a list of people we knew who could record us and Maxim Lavrov found us a space at Tonmeister (Music and Sound Recording course at Surrey University). A few hours after playing duo for the first time we were on a train out of London and a few hours later we were ready to record, in a the dark of an unused TV studio! We played for around an hour and a half, pretty much non stop. We've selected a few of our favourite moments from the recording for this album. All the music is improvised.

We hope you enjoy!
